Vintage Earrings

If you want to purchase vintage earrings, there are several things you may wish to consider before selecting your earrings:
1. The large majority of vintage costume earrings are clip ons so you’ll need to be somewhat cautious when wearing them so that they don’t fall off. Another alternative is to retrofit them so you can wear them as pierced earrings. You may do this by removing the backs so you can add posts or wires.
2. Check the clasps and studs on the earrings to be sure that they aren’t weak.
3. Do not soak your vintage earrings or other vintage costume jewelry in jewelry cleaners or other liquids.
I wish I could wear clip on earrings as some of these older earring styles are so beautiful and no longer available, but I just cannot do it, I have not found a way to keep them on for whatever reason. Maybe this accounts for fewer people in the past not wearing earrings. Good suggestions in this post.
